EMAIL: It's a boy!

Zachary Michael Laski joined us on Saturday 1/23/10 at 5:56pm PT, and we could not be more excited!  He is 4 lbs. 15 oz, and 18.25 inches long - long and lean like his parents.

Because he was a 35-week baby (a little early), he is being monitored in the NICU for a few days, but everything looks great.  He is eating and pooping like a pro already - a true Laski. He has a lower-than-normal resting heart rate, and all the nurses all say he's bound to be an athlete.

Tara is dong well, except that a hematoma is causing her pain, keeping her on bedrest, and will probably keep her in the hospital longer than baby needs to be. Unfortunately, this means that the hospital can't release Zachary to her, so he might need to be released to dad (gasp!).

Thanks to many of you for the great messages we have received already. It feels like we have been in the hospital forever, and we can't wait to see everybody again.

The cord to transfer pictures from camera to laptop did not make the trip to the hospital, so I have attached some pictures I took with my phone.

Did I mention we are excited?  :)
